| ABOUT INDIAN HUMAN RESOURCE CENTER
IHRC is presently celebrating over 25 years of service to Native American Indians in the greater San Diego County community.
The Indian Human Resource Center began its operation on September 7, 1979 in San Diego, California. It provided employment and training programs for Native Americans, and has since expanded its scope of services to include numerous programs for the benefit of the 46,000 American Indians in San Diego County and the community at large.
Despite advances made by a relatively few Native American Indians — thanks to Indian gaming resources — the great majority of the 500 tribes across the Unites States suffer from 80% unemployment and its accompanying social problems.
With its climate and low unemployment, San Diego is a magnet for Native American Indians who are looking to change their lives for the better and they often arrive at our center with few resources and local contacts.
